Through the generosity of your donation, students will be able to visit the Philadelphia Museum of Art and engage in an Art Investigation and Learning to Look workshop. The workshop itself is free to all public and charter schools in Philadelphia. The only cost associated with the trip is transportation. Students need a school bus to go to and from the art museum to Mastery Charter Simon Gratz in North Philadelphia. Through YellowBird Bus, both legs of the trip cost $205.
During the Arts Integration workshop, they will be exploring works of art that engages their inquiring minds and encourages critical thinking. In this lesson, students practice making meaning through close looking, analyzing visual evidence, making inferences, and examining different perspectives. In addition, they will be able to make observations and descriptions about a variety of artwork using all five senses and respond to artwork thoughtfully through discussion, drawing, and writing.
