These varied and brightly colored seating options will provide research-proven benefits to my students. Students who are comfortable learn more. What is more comfortable than a bean bag chair? Students who have choice in their day, take more ownership of their learning. With these bean bag chairs, wobble cushions, busy-feet bands and donut ball seats added to the stools, chairs, tables and desks I already have, there are many options that can be mixed and matched for even greater choice. Students who get to move are better able to focus on their learning. These materials will allow my students to wobble, jiggle, squish and bounce their bodies so their minds can attend to their work.
Not only will these materials offer seating variety, but the rainbow motif, a symbol of diversity and acceptance, also lends itself to a welcoming environment. Students and parents have always positively commented on my rainbow room and now I can extend that into their seating options. Bright and varied colors give a sense of joy upon entering the classroom that can further enhance student engagement.
