Getting flexible seating in my classroom will help my students to focus. We live in a very active world and having students sit still in a seat for long periods of time is not an option that works well for many students. As the world we live in changes, we too have to change.
Flexible seating puts students in charge of their learning because they will choose the seat that will help them to learn in a way that is best for them.
By having a variety of options available to them, students are able to choose the movement that will assist them, whether it be bouncing on the balls, wiggling on the chairs, or swaying on the swish disks. The bands also provide a way to move their feet in a way that is not a distraction to their classmates.
