Our Head Start classroom would greatly benefit from flex seating specifically wobbly seats.
In our classroom twice a day we offer children healthy meals where we encourage them to sit in a wooden chair. During these meals, they are offered healthy foods but just as importantly they are an active participant in conversations.
As we all know social and emotional skills are greatly important for children to develop while they are young. They are learning that what they have to say is valued. They are also learning what their peers have to say also has value.
Some children are unable to focus due to needing to move. This is where the wobbly chairs will be successful.
