Our school is a high poverty school (70% free/reduced lunch) and we know how important it is that we build strong reading skills. Our pride shines bright when we choose our own books from our classroom library and use our growing reading skills! We also really enjoy having fun together and sharing our own cultures with one another. We need more chapter books in our classroom library with characters from diverse backgrounds and settings.
Please helps us add to our collection and get multicultural chapter books into the hands of our eager learners! Having multiple copies of chapter books with characters from diverse backgrounds and settings in our classroom library will help us build strong reading skills. We are especially interested in series such as EllRay Jakes, Dymonde Daniel, Lola Levine, Freddie Ramos, Bobbie The Brave, and of course, Katie Woo and Pedro.
