Do you remember as a child how hard it was to sit down in one spot for a long time? Do ever think of where you sit at home to do work for yourself? Do you ever find yourself sitting on the floor and using the couch as a table? Have you ever found yourself laying down on the ground your computer? I want you to think of 7-8 year old kids who are trying to stay engaged with school. Think of how long a lesson can be. My students are very active children. They can't just sit and stay engaged.
The materials that I am requesting is for students to feel comfortable, independent and unique. Students now a days students have a hard time sitting in the big bulky desks with chairs. They tilt their chair, they sway, stand or just want to sit on the floor. Why should we discourage them from comfort if it is only helping them to do their best work. Using flexible seating provides a community setting that invites students to feel at home yet in an environment where they learn daily.
The donations to this class will only help them to understand that all classroom styles are different but that it can only help them to succeed in their own way. Not only will you help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will guide them to success and high achievement. Please help me make this a reality for my students! Thanks!!
