As an educator, I believe it is important to help students to enjoy reading rather than make it a chore. The majority of my items chosen will be used for our classroom library. I am a first year teacher, and I need to provide a literacy rich environment to promote life-long learners. I plan to incorporate book boxes where the students are allowed to choose up to seven books to read from my shelves, plus their library books, to enjoy during independent reading. The other various items will be used in addition to reading, math, and science blocks. I look forward to filling our classroom with wonderful learning items!
