I am implementing blended learning this year and hoping to add flex seating options to make the personalized learning approach most successful! My classroom is in the beginning mode of implementing flexible seating and in desperate need of more options.
I am excited to see a sense of responsibility and excitement of learning within my little learners, and it has motivated me to look into adding new items such as the wobble chairs, tactile pillows, and floor chairs/cushions to give them more options to be successful!
I will be using the wobble chairs to help students focus on the ability to move in my small group area where collaboration and hands-on activities will be implemented. They will also be used for students during whole group time who need the option for movement while sitting long periods of time. The floor chairs, tactile pillows, and wobble cushions will be part of different station rotations and for use with technology devices. I think all of these items will also add a sensory element which my students need! I truly believe flexible seating options are revolutionizing classrooms to become more student-centered and giving students options to learn in a way that fits their needs so they can achieve and be successful!
