Our school district has been using a new math curriculum called CPM where the majority of the instruction has shifted from the teacher role of direct instruction to being a facilitator. This means that I spend the majority of my time circulating the classroom to support my students' learning. Therefore, it is necessary for me to step away from the front of the room and directly interact with my students in their teams.
Your generous donation of this iPad Pro will improve the students' mathematics learning experience with the increase of technology support.
Currently, my students have Chromebooks supplied through the district to access their e-books and homework. With the support of this project, as their facilitator, I will be able to instantly share student work with teams as well as the entire classroom, be able to support all my struggling students of all learning abilities, and give ongoing support to my English Learners as well as my Special Education students; essentially be available to my students within arms reach throughout each lesson.
Ultimately, my role as an instructor up next to the white board will be obsolete, and my role will be as a facilitator of mathematics and as a life coach as it will allow me more interaction time with my students.
