Help my students become masters of the NGSS by empowering them with the tools to create their own self-sustaining aquarium ecosystems!
These projects will be unlike typical aquariums with fish kept as pets, they will be designed by students to be self-sustaining habitats that can be studied.
Students will carefully design a food-chain of organisms including plants, algae, plankton, and fish that will regulate itself. The only food introduced will be light for the plants and algae and new water as evaporation happens. This will be a year-long endeavor where groups of students continually perfect their ecosystem's efficacy and sustainability.
