The Bear Barn will be a mini working farm, right on our school campus; included will be chickens, rabbits, bearded dragons and other "fostered" animals from local farmers. Students will be involved in learning about caring for the animals, weighing them, feeding schedules, cleaning schedules (using shovels and rakes) and use of solar lights and the solar ventilation system.
The animals will be providing great listening ears for young readers and homework buddies for several students with special needs. There will be boxes in the barn with activities for teachers to use with their students and places to post student work inside the barn.
