Having books will allow my students to be engaged during focused silent reading period. My students will have a great selection of books to choose from. It will feed their passion and love for reading and thus allow them to focus on the use and application of reading strategies. My students will learn responsibility in maintaining our classroom library. A check in and out system will be created and students will take leadership in that. They will also write book recommendations after finishing books to help keep the library exciting and alive for my students. This library will open their imaginations, set their creativity free and provide windows to the world. The books will also build community and discussions in the classrooms. I will be able to build connections and increase student rapport during book conferencing.
