So much of kindergarten social studies is learning about communities. What better way for them to learn than to build their own community, explore what roles are in a community, and have a hands-on way to approach civics and economics? They love LEGO and creating small projects like trains, cars, and houses. This would allow them to expand that exploration, discover, ask, and research those things in a way that makes sense to them. As rural community kids, this will open up the possibility to explore outside of the city limits without ever leaving our school.
