I have been teaching first grade for 8 years. This year, I will be moving on up to third grade. I am excited to be teaching some of my sweeties again. I want their new classroom to feel warm and inviting, not only for the students, but also their parents. I know the importance of making those connections before any learning can begin.
These students are growing up: as third graders, they are in between feeling like a child and moving into their teen years. I want their classroom to be full of inspiration while also feeling like a safe space for them to learn and share with each other.
The decorations are to create the comfy, at "home" atmosphere, while the easel will be incorporated into whole groups lessons, as well as small group reading times and math talks.
