My goal is simple, to give my first graders easy access to collaboration. Using tables, instead of desks, would give the students more freedom to work together in a group of any size. Specifically, these dry erase tabletops will give them even more access to collaboration, literally putting the tools at their fingertips!
One of my biggest priorities as a teacher is being able to offer my students more opportunities to see learning as engaging, exciting, and important. These tables will help me do just that, in a developmentally appropriate way. Using tables instead of desks and fostering a teamwork-based way of learning will give my first graders a taste of real-life working situations. They will build many lifelong skills to carry them through the rest of their academic career and hopefully the rest of their lives!
