At our preschool, we focus on providing students with the best education at the youngest age possible. In this time of great need, parents, students, and teachers like us, can feel helpless, overwhelmed, and depressed with virtual learning. Our school is situated in a low social economic setting. By supporting our students, through contributing to the materials we requested, these materials will give access for the opportunity for each student to become engaged in learning. Your support contributing will provide the opportunity to expand the student’s language development, encourage discovery, and exploration through reading, art, math, and science activities. Lastly, your support will challenge, and promote the student’s cognitive skills, and provide the opportunity to support the development of the student’s fine motor skills.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle art/crafts project. In this fun, whimsical activity, the students will take a closer look at the beloved Hungry Caterpillar by The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle is a classic children's book and a must-read on every preschooler's story list. In this fun, whimsical activity, the students will take a closer look at the beloved Hungry Caterpillar by making their own colorful pom pom caterpillar! The students will love choosing the colors for their caterpillar and will laugh as they think of all the foods the caterpillar ate to turn those colors. This activity will help my students build excitement about reading and story time, will give them practice in color recognition, patterns, matching, story recognition and will help them work on fine motor skills. In this activity we will use glue, pompoms, pipe cleaners, google eyes and different material which enhance their learning and making a connection of the story.
