Of course I would never get rid of tables and chairs! However, I would love to give all my students a comfortable way to keep them active and focus. Some students need to wiggle and some just need comfort. As a 5th grade teacher, we are moving through all the subjects in order to learn it all. At my school the morning is 3 hours long before a recess and transitions can sometimes be a little messy when all some students want to do is move. Using flexible seating allows them to move throughout the lesson if they need to but in a controlled manner. Other students just want space and cushion. Let’s give our students that quiet and nice working space they deserve so that they can learn!
