Bucket drumming is something that will open new possibilities for my students. I am the dance teacher at my school and have seen the way my students dance and express, and they are hungry for new ways to learn through music and movement. They have an interest and talent for this subject which needs to be nurtured and needs new avenues to grow.
By providing my students with these materials they will get to experience new ways of music and movement, learning rhythm in a meaningful way which will lead into new discoveries. These supplies will allow me to teach my students in a way I haven't been able to in the past. Students will play different rhythms on the yoga balls and continue on including movement and dance into the explorations. I plan on using the tools to evolve into future lesson plans including stepping into written word, specifically poetry. Their experience in dance leads to their academic achievement in other areas of school. Their self confidence begins to grown and they begin to translate their success into different subject areas.
