By gaining a large, round carpet space, we will be able to sit together for read-alouds, morning meetings, and mini math, science and social studies lessons. Kindergarteners, being new to school, need opportunities to socialize and play and learn alongside peers, sharing their ideas and questions. Traditional desks will be in use in our classroom, however we know that students who ‘change state’ frequently remain more engaged and effectively are able to sustain attention for longer periods of time and hopefully learn more! Having the couple of flexible seats on hand will also provide alternatives for my young learners! Kinders love novelty! I want my economically disadvantaged students to have every other advantage when it comes to their classroom experience! Please help us out and consider supporting this worthwhile classroom community building project!
