All I need is help to procure new age-appropriate books for 1st-2nd grade kids. All the books we have for that age group are torn up chapters books with missing pages and donated adult books that are beyond their reading and comprehension level (500 Pro Golf Tips from Sports Illustrated, anyone?). Our school library has not had a dedicated librarian in 18 months; we need all the help we can get to revamp! The condition of our books tells our students that they are not important enough to get new and nice books. This has to change. I want our kids to be able to get the latest, cool kids books and to establish that bond with literacy that a lot of other kids in our community get.
