I would love to have a set of chromebooks in my classroom! I teach reading to approximately 125 6th graders who have limited access to technology. Having a Chromebook for each pair of students would vastly improve the amount of time my students would be able to use technology to increase their access to content through online articles and magazines, and their ability to use the priceless tool of technology to communicate their learning and thinking with others.
One of the most effective methods I have used is collaborative learning using technology. I love having my students work in pairs or small groups to dissect and discuss a text and then send answers to me or other students via google classroom or email for feedback. They love having technology at their fingertips! This is also a great way to prepare them for college and careers, as education and businesses become more and more reliant on communication via technology.
