This year I will be moving from 2nd grade up to 4th grade as a reading and writing teacher. In order to best meet the needs of my 40+ students, I need new, higher lever books to use during my small group reading blocks.
The chapter books that I have chosen will help foster students' imagination, comprehension, vocabulary, and writing skills while engaging them in higher level thinking. In the two years that I have been teaching, I have found that my students get extremely invested in novel studies and can't wait to start the next story once one is completed. With these books I believe my students' love for reading will continue to grow and the students who are apprehensive about literature will discover it.
