Help us to purchase Chromebooks for our science classroom. Science is meant to be explored and majority of students learn by being hands on and practicing the information they received. Students in my school may never have the experience to be even near a cheetah to calculate their speed or know why sonar is important to know when studying oceanography. However, with Chromebooks and virtual labs they can test out why cheetahs are the fastest animal and practice using sonar on a sunken ship and see the ecosystems developed around a shipwreck. By donating money to buy Chromebooks for our class it will give them the chance to practice real world science labs that make what I teach more relative to their lives. They will use them to log into CK12.org and other virtual lab websites to complete labs that are very similar to real life labs. These labs will normally not be able to be done due to costs of materials and time. We will also use our Chromebooks to practice science vocabulary through online websites like quizlet, gimkit and kahoot!
