The supplies I am requesting are to enable me to not only teach the 4th grade math and science standards but to engage my students in hands-on activities. I want to step away from lecturing and handouts and move towards lessons that students would have to collaborate, build things and problem solve.
I want to make learning fun, captivating and memorable.
Some of the science experiments I have planned are a volcano eruption for our natural disaster unit, electrical circuit building, light refraction & model of an eye for our life unit.
For math I would like some dry eraser boards to have the students work out problems, some tools to display the measurements and have them use them to measure things. I think having the students do hands on activities imprints the learning.
