The classroom in which I will be teaching my students is a blank slate with remarkable potential. The empty, white walls and tile floors have been home to 67 years worth of learners. However, what worked for students in 1952 is not sufficient for developing scholars in the 21st century.
The ability to succeed and advance in the world is fostered in the classroom. All of the supplies on this list will have their own niche in the space, creating a more inviting and inclusive learning environment for my students. The Giant Pillows and Bouncing Bands will allow my students who need flexible seating to focus better during class. The reusable dry erase sleeves will be instrumental in the interactive and follow-along work during our math block. Finally, the classroom carpet would serve as a comfortable space where the students would participate in community circles. In creating this setting, I will be able to cater my classroom culture and schooling for students that have different learning styles.
