The word "adulting" is popular now because people go out into the world feeling unprepared for the challenges they face, especially financial challenges.
My students often ask "Can we read a book that will actually help us in life?" This is that book: it will teach them about credit card interest, student loans, applying for a mortgage, etc. They will no longer be able to say "why didn't I learn how to do this in high school?" but will feel confident stepping out into the world...adulting, if you will.
In addition to it being relevant to their lives, students struggle reading non-fiction books. This book will be used to teach them about author's purpose and critical thinking as well as teaching them about money.
