With a background in Psychology and a love for education, It is my philosophy that Flexible Seating promotes positive stimulation and encourages engagement in young students. Environment is the most important aspect in the classroom and I'm looking to shake it up! "The learning space is an important aspect of the whole educational experience: “One cannot have a community of learners without having a positive instructional climate"
This will be my first attempt at incorporating flexible seating into my 1st/2nd grade classroom. I have done research and found that many teachers find traditional seating can hinder students' ability to accomplish learning goals at times. I want my kids to utilize my classroom fully and collaborate accordingly. I find that desks organized in rows do not foster open collaboration. I am excited to see what doors this will open for my kids!
