Although I am a 1st-year teacher, I truly feel as though my students will benefit from having lab coats in our science class. I did my student teaching in a second-grade science class and the teacher has a classroom set of lab coats for her students. The students seem to really enjoy class more when they did experiments and were allowed to wear their lab coats. With this experience, I decided if I ever taught science that I would love to implement the use of lab coats into my classroom. I would like for my students to feel as though they are a real scientist; to get that feeling of actually working in a science lab. We will use these lab coats whenever we are conducting science experiments.
