Kindergarten students love to use their imaginations and create new things all of the time. Legos, Magnatiles, and a small set of wooden blocks are the most popular centers in my room now. Each group builds something new and creative by using teamwork and the imagination that only a five-year-old has. I can’t imagine the amazing ideas that will come from these blocks. This is an activity that all learners can be successful at with their peers. It doesn’t matter who is reading above or below grade level, who knows numbers to 100 or to 10, or who doesn’t speak English as their primary language. We all clap, smile, and celebrate the same for our friends.
