My goal is to provide my high school students with a comfortable flexible seating environment. Many students find it difficult to sit in a desk all day, and this includes high school students. By helping me provide a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere, you will also be helping students to be more actively engaged and productive in a high school English classroom. I have many Special Education students in my classes that have special needs in flexible seating accommodations. These would allow them to make choices that will lend to their success in class.
Research shows that allowing students to move within the classroom leads to higher success rates and higher levels of engagement in the materials. The products I have chosen for this project will give students the option to work in pairs or alone, where they can share information and discuss the class texts in a more comfortable seating choice from the traditional desk arrangement.
These bar height table and chairs will allow me to monitor students while offering seating and partnering flexibility, and can also be easily moved around the room in order to offer additional seating configurations.
