The core of any classroom is the students. In today's classrooms there are more and more students to teach and a range of abilities while racing against the clock. Small group is a powerful way to teach, encourage, and challenge students. This table would provide that empowering space in my classroom. I would have the opportunity to meet with small groups of students and meet one on one with students in a common place. It would be a place for conversation and collaboration but also for creation. This table would allow the students to be hands on with their learning. They would be able to engage right on the table in all academic areas: reading, writing, and math. We can work through problems, practice writing techniques, and work on phonics skills right on this table. I love seeing the amazement in my students faces when I tell them to write on the table. In my classroom right now I would not get to provide that opportunity. BUT with this table the possibilities and amazements are endless.
