My students come to me with limited knowledge of what goes on outside of our small rural town. When they read about exciting new adventures and far off places they have often struggle with creating a picture of that in their head. These iPads will help my students with being able to have the resources they need to create the knowledge they need to understand what they are learning.
These iPads in the classroom will also help my students who struggle with learning English, the opportunity to interact with the language in another way. They will be able to play with the sounds of words, have stories read to them, or just interact with another student.
Finally, these iPads are a way to make learning engaging by using what they already know. Students know how to use technology very easily, but they get to apply those skills to help learn information that may be a struggle for them to connect with otherwise.
Ultimately, these iPads will be a great resource for current and future students to come.
