Historically, students lose their passion for reading as the texts get more difficult. With so many excellent authors writing for the middle school reader, it is my job to ensure students have books that pique their interest, reflect who they are, and allow them to find themselves as they explore their identity in middle school. In turn, they will find their love for reading. The classroom library is the key to doing this. When students fall in love with reading, their world and the possibilities for their understanding are endless. Through the addition of these thirty-five books to my classroom library, my students will have access to books that reflect their own experiences and will give me more opportunities to connect students to books and authors they love.

About my class
