Having a comfortable place to read and making it a part of our daily routine will help my students form a love for reading. Research shows that students who read at least 20 minutes a day perform better on standardized test. This project will help my students form the habit of reading daily and begin reading for enjoyment.
Every student will find a comfortable reading spot and we will read independently for 20 minutes. Students will get ten minutes to share what they read with a friend. The increased volume of reading will improve test scores and make my students better readers.
