Have you ever walked in a classroom and seen the students slouched down in their hard seats? Maybe a kid sitting sideways because he/she can’t fit comfortably in their desk! I know that during my elementary years, I was super excited when the teacher called carpet time or group work activities because it meant that I could leave my dreaded desk seating! I have witnessed that students are more engaged and willing to learn when they are given the opportunity to explore seating arrangements within their learning environment! Flexible seating has to be the greatest incentive to place in a new century classroom!
