As a result of my education mindset, in my classroom we do tons of puzzles, games, competitions, and simulations--all rooted in historical thinking skills. We jam out to music, compare historical events to pop culture, collaborate with one another, grapple with tough topics, and we laugh--a lot. History should not be someone droning on and on about boring stuff; it should be an engaging study of how we have gotten to where we are today. The funds for this project will provide materials for classroom supplies and storage, classroom culture and interactive activities, such as escape rooms and our annual Olympics-style competition to review for state testing. The ribbons and USA figurines are for our Olympic Competition. The shelf serves as additional storage for classroom supplies such as scissors, cardstock, expos, stamps, and clipboards. The cars and buses are for a puzzle for an upcoming escape room. The wooden medallions are for our end-of-the-year character awards. Thank you for funding my project.
