My students come to my room, the library, for 35 minutes a week. During this time, we work on library skills and how to use a library. Students are also able to check-out books.
My students would love to sit around my library, on the floor, while they read their newly checked-out books.
I would love to give my students flexible seating to make reading more fun and comfortable for them. I have discovered, as a teacher, that students are more eager to learn when they are in a comfortable environment. It also helps them keep focused and pay attention. With the flexible seating I have chosen for this project, I will be able to provide this type of environment for all my students.
