Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times they choose a location in the classroom that works for them; typically in the hallway, at a desk, or by the window. Providing these students with comfortable seating that allows them to move anywhere in the classroom is important to me because flexible seating provides students with the comfort they need to best succeed.
My students are more engaged with their work and less disruptive of others when they are given a choice to where they sit in the classroom. Flexible seating give students a choice in what kind of learning space works best for them, and help them to work collaboratively, communicate, and engage in critical thinking. The products I have selected allow students to be more comfortable around the classroom. All of the products that have been selected are easy for students to move in the classroom to where they learn best.
