Everything that I chose will benefit each student. There are so many educational supplies that I wish I could afford to buy for my classroom. The items I chose for my classroom are beneficial in many ways. First, I chose the necessities to assist in the functioning of my classroom everyday. Pencils and a good pencil sharpener are a must have. Good pencils, like Ticonderoga are useful because they last longer. I cannot tell you how many pencils we go through in a class in one year! I also chose a cork board, and two kinds of chart papers. It is important to display information visually for first graders. They learn so much in 1st grade. Finally, word puzzles, and sight words because in first grade we are responsible for teaching and for each student to know at least 400 sight words. Puzzles and sight word display are a must gave for first grade! Headphones are used daily in my classroom as children work with programs such as iReady and Superphonics with the classroom computer. These programs help to bridge the gaps in student's learning. Headphones are an item, most parents will not provide for their child. I like to make sure each student has a set if headphones so they may use the computer and utilize these important programs for their learning needs.
