Reflecting on the activities used to keep math stimulating while also allowing students to practice core ideas in mathematics, I believe that purchasing individual white boards and large poster paper for my classroom would greatly benefit my students. These supplies would provide the opportunity to integrate sensory activities, allowing the students to engage in both qualitative and quantitative lessons throughout the semester. The poster paper will allow me to plan creative group activities, such as creating word problems, while the white boards can be used for quick practice, easy transitions, and allow students to utilize their energy.
A donation to this project will support the continuing efforts to make mathematics relatable, interactive, and much more accessible to students of all learning types.
The opportunity for students to be involved in group work will not only allow for them to learn from each other, but also to work on collaborating as they problem solve. These supplies are critical to supporting their learning as they work to meet all of their goals.
