I teach middle school students and students at this age level struggle greatly with sitting down. They constantly look for ways to get out of their seat. Some examples include getting up to use the restroom, getting a drink of water, sharpening an already sharp pencil. I also believe students learn more if you teach to their individual learning style. I believe giving my students a choice in where they sit in my classroom will actually help them be more focused in what I am teaching them. I believe making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them especially at a school where the students have 1:1 computers.
