Being able to bring ceramic art to life sometimes requires a little more color. Also, for it to be used as functional ceramic art, the piece must have a glaze applied to the surface. Being provided with more options to finish artwork allows the students to express themselves in a more creative and thoughtful way. It also allows for each student to become individuals in a world where they are typically seen as a group. The students in the area where I teach aren't always provided with the same resources as students in more prestigious areas. The funding is limited and because of that, they are sometimes forced to make do with what they have. I want to be able to provide my students with an array of options so that they know not only in the art are the possibilities endless but that it is also that way in life.
