The resources I am requesting are high interest, high quality books for my classroom library. My students are given time to read during the school day, and most of the time they choose their books from our classroom library, especially now that they can't physically go to the school library. We have a decent classroom library but could definitely use more books! High interest books will hook those readers who struggle to find a book they really enjoy. Quality books will require the students to think a little harder and dig a bit deeper into their stories. These are important reading strategies that the students will be able to carry with them throughout their lives. Studies show that the best way to become a better, stronger reader is to spend time reading more books! Therefore, the more high interest, high quality books we have in our classroom library, the more the students will be able to read, and learn, at a higher level! This project is very important because all children should be given the opportunity to know what it feels like to love reading. Reading has such an important impact on the life of a child that it is my goal to make that impact a positive and meaningful one! In order to accomplish this, I need more high interest, high quality books, of varied genres, for my classroom library.
