The Canon color printer will impact my literacy instruction greatly in my first-grade classroom. First graders require literacy practice that is both engaging, and fun while meeting standards for best practices. Having the access to a color printer in the classroom would be beneficial to achieve this goal, as our building currently has only one color printer, and access to it is extremely limited due to cost restraints.
Students will learn the art of publishing their personal stories with the flair and flexibility of printing fonts and images in color, as opposed to basic black and white. This will afford my gifted class of learners the ability to create works that resemble real books and publications, thus, increasing their motivation and drive to work to their highest abilities.
Another benefit of the color printer will be the simplicity of creating hands-on games, printed in color and on cardstock, that the students can then use daily to practice a multitude of literacy skills.
An example might be a word-building game using onset and rime chunks that are printed in red(onset) and blue (rime) colored fonts on cardstock.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my Ðǿմ«Ã½.org request. Teaching is my passion, and I love creating an environment for our future leaders that inspires them to rise to the best version of themselves!
