Support Mrs. Green's classroom with a gift that fosters learning.
If I had to describe my classroom I would say that it is one that allows the students to be themselves and to learn in the way that is conducive to their learning. The students are given hands on engaging lessons and activities to improve learning for all students including special needs students and ESOL students. I lead my class in a manner that lets them know that I do not know everything and we will learn together. I encourage the students to learn independently and to take pride in what they have achieved and not to be afraid to share their knowledge with others. I want them to learn that every one has their own opinion and that you should accept others and embrace their differences.
Students with special needs are different and to embrace their differences and help them to be successful I will use the bands on their chair to give them an opportunity to move and learn. The cd listening center will be used to read books in both English and Spanish. The books will be used to improve fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, and writing. I want to embrace other cultures and learn that their differences allows the students in the class to grow in learning and understanding. The bookcase will be used to hold books in diverse languages to help my students improve their language skills in multiple languages. ESOL students need to have materials that represent their culture and should be allowed to share their culture including foods, languages, pictures, clothing and stories so they will tape their voices reading a book in Spanish and English and it will be used to help other students learn.
