The texts I've chosen to immerse my students in will not only expose them to new Spanish vocabulary but make connections with different Spanish cultures and traditions. Having students read a novel in a different language will help their literacy skills in English and build their confidence in the Spanish language. Having access to a class set will allow students to read aloud together, individually and also act out scenes for better understanding. Furthermore, students will create their own ofrendas when discussing Día de los Muertos and create a play to depict a traditional Quinciañera celebration. Spanish will come to life!

About my class
