YMCA Camp Jackson provides opportunities for people of all ages to experience the great outdoors and learn new skills. Our students will have the opportunity to learn survival skills, animal science, forest ecology, and archery skills. Students will also participate in team building activities that will strengthen problem solving and communication skills while promoting higher levels of self-confidence, self-esteem, and compassion.
By donating to our project, you will ensure that all of our students will have the opportunity to participate in this once in a lifetime experience.
Many of our students have never had the opportunity to go on an overnight outdoor adventure. This trip will give students from all socioeconomic backgrounds, including many of our students from low-income families, the chance to experience nature as they never have before. Students will be able to learn about the natural environment through inquiry based outdoor activities.
