Students that get to choose their seat in the classroom get to learn from a young age the tools that help them be successful. We talk a lot about these options being tools not toys. This project will allow my students to have a variety of different seating options in my classroom. They will get to choose when they come into the classroom a spot that will help them be successful that day.
Being a problem solver involves letting students make their own choices, learning from mistakes and celebrating the good choices. I am not only teaching standards in my classroom, I am teaching my students to be college and career ready by teaching them to self regulate their behavior and learn good habits. This will help them engage in successful learning in the classroom.
