Having ukuleles in the classroom would allow my students (who typically will not get any other string experience) to get experience with instruments that they may not otherwise get at our school. We have a few percussion instruments and students may rent outside instruments to play in the 5th-8th bands, but outside of these materials, we do not have instruments for students and hands-on learning.
Ukuleles are the perfect size for these students to begin learning together as a class and I am hoping this also sparks their interest for future musical growth! Our small school will be able to make big strides in music!
