My classroom is an engaging environment where I work hard to make learning relevant and interesting. I have been to countless Science and Math professional development opportunities and I am passionate about teaching my students. But, today's students need to learn skills that I had never dreamed of during my own education experience. Not only do they need basic computer skills, they need to learn how to code, problem solve, and research while finding dependable and correct sources. Students need to learn how to communicate and collaborate with others as they work.
The biggest gap in my classroom has come from a lack of access to current technology for my students. Having such a large class makes this gap even wider. I strive to prepare my students for the ever-changing needs of our world, but this is become more and more difficult without a strong foundation in technology. Whether students plan to attend college or go directly into manufacturing and trade jobs, a strong grasp of technology is a requirement.
